Facebook Privacy Settings

From time to time I’m asked to talk to students about social networking. The topics usually range from how you can use social networks to land a job out of college, to what the new hot trends are in social networking.

One thing that always comes up is privacy. Most folks don’t even think about their privacy settings on social networks, let alone know that you can fine tune settings on many social networks to control who can see your information.

Since Facebook is one of the largest, and most well known, social networks out there I thought it would be helpful give you a short overview of the available privacy settings on Facebook.
