Xfinity On Demand — Coming Soon to an Xbox 360 Near You
We're continually evolving the Xfinity TV experience to enable subscribers to access it on multiple devices and platforms — from computers to smartphones and tablets, and now for the first time, game consoles. And with each platform, Comcast has a new opportunity to reinvent how people watch TV.
That's why we're excited to be working with Microsoft to bring our Xfinity On Demand service to the Xbox 360 and continue delivering on our promise to give consumers the ability to search, find and watch the content they love in more places, on more devices. Today's video game enthusiasts don't fit the traditional stereotype anymore - they are interactive, social and on the cutting-edge of today's digital lifestyle. Bringing our On Demand content to them via the Xbox 360 gives them more ways to experience entertainment in an environment that's familiar to them.
As we move to new platforms and devices, our goal is to bring consumers even better experiences. Our team of engineers and software developers in Comcast Labs are using both IP and cloud-based technology to take full advantage of each platform — whether it's an iPad app...XfinityTV.com...our next generation Xfinity TV guide...connected TVs and now gaming consoles.
Through our partnership with Microsoft, we'll offer our customers a unique and innovative way to discover, control and experience thousands of On Demand programs from leading networks and studios, using unique features like Kinect's voice and gesture controls. And, because Xfinity TV's Xbox experience is built on a private IP platform, we can deliver a more personal and integrated, next-generation experience. The Xbox experience also is more evidence that consumers can increasingly buy devices of their choosing at retail in order to access video content from a variety of sources, including video content from their multichannel video provider.
We're planning to offer Xfinity On Demand on the Xbox 360 in the coming months. Here's an early look at the UI and navigation experience. Like everything we do now, the Xbox experience will evolve quickly as we leverage our cloud-based and private IP infrastructure that we have been investing in.

@Charlotte, thanks for your question and the opportunity to clarify.
The Xbox 360, XFINITY Internet service and digital cable service and equipment all need to be on the same Comcast account and located in the Comcast service area.
Requirements
1. Xbox 360 Game Console
2. Xbox LIVE Gold Subscription
3. XFINITY TV Digital Starter service or above
4. XFINITY Internet service
5. Comcast ID or Comcast.net email address and password
Question relating to Sheila's question and Ted's response.... She was stating that they receive a code 4004, as do I and Ted responded that such code usually means that one is outside the service area. So, my question is, " If we do not have Comcast in our area then, there is no way to access Xfinity through the Xbox 360 and one should stop trying?"
@Tim, yes, certainly a subscription to XFINITY Voice or a Triple Play subscription is not required for this service. I must have had Streampix on my mind when I wrote that. I edited my original response, thanks for pointing that out so I could make the correction quickly.
Certainly all of our customers are important. I am glad to hear that you are enjoying and find value in our XFINITY On Demand service on your iPad and also via Xfinity.net online; services already included with your monthly subscription.
In order to view XFINITY On Demand programming on the Xbox 360, we currently require that you also subscribe to our XFINITY Internet service.
Well, you only require TWO of your products in order to get XFINITY on the Xbox, but I get what you mean - if I only have Comcast cable service, I'm not an important customer to you.
But, I can watch On Demand on my computer without having your internet service, and I can watch on demand on my iPhone or iPad without having your internet service.
@Tim, thanks for your question. We provide the XFINTY TV on Xbox as an added value to our customers who have all three of our products.
EDIT: Apologies, I had Streampix on my mind when I wrote "three of our products". Of course, you only need to have Xfinity internet and Xfinity TV service with On Demand...and an Xbox 360 and Xbox Live Gold subscription.
I don't understand why you have to have Comcast internet in order to use this feature. I have Comcast cable, and can watch TV - including Showtime which I subscribe to - on my computer from the xfinity.comcast.net website without having Comcast internet, so why can't I do it on the xBox?
Seems like if you are a cable subscriber, you should be able to get cable programming like this.
@Caleb, The Xbox 360, XFINITY Internet service and digital cable service and equipment all need to be on the same Comcast account.

1. Xbox 360 Game Console
2. Xbox LIVE Gold Subscription
3. XFINITY TV Digital Starter service or above
4. XFINITY Internet service
5. Comcast ID or Comcast.net email address and password

@Shelia, typically error code 4004 indicates that you are outside of the Comcast service area and therefore this service would not be avaiable to you.

Can I use the app if my parents have xfinity, but I do not use Comcast as an internet service provider?
my daughter has a xbox 360 downloaded it for her xbox and attempted to sign up for xfinity but it redirected to code 4004 need help
It doesn't work...
Hello Vanesa. This is now available. (How's that for fast?) More details at this link: http://xbox.comcast.net/index.html
Any word on when this gets released? I just bought an Xbox 360 & was pumped to hear I could watch my Xfinity on it, but sadly disappointed when I realized it still wasn't out yet. TIA!
When will this be launching on Xbox?
Is there an update on when this will happen?
when is xfinity coming to xbox360?
I just bought my dad an 360 for his birthday. I'm excited to see the 360 and it's slick new features replace his old 1st Gen Xbox, 12-year-old DVD carousel, gigantic cable box, and slow Comcast Cable TV interface all in one fell swoop. Thanks Comcast, can't wait!
When is Xfinity going for xbox.
Couple questions about this service - I get my television service through Comcast, but get my internet from someone else. Will I be able to access this?
Second, is this going to require other subscriptions, like Xbox Live Gold?
Thanks.
When is this app going to be ready for use?
I have high speed internet with comcast (xfinity) but I am wondering if we will get this on our xbox 360, or if it's only offered to those who pay for cable as well?
@Jeremy Anderson Since this is just another way to watch the Xfinity On Demand cable service that you already see on other TVs in your home, it doesn't count to our data usage threshold on our high-speed Internet service.
We offer our On Demand content across a variety of platforms and devices – TVs, online via XfinityTV.com, iPad, iPhones, and soon connected TVs via Samsung and now a gaming console. We are always looking to extend to other platforms, but don’t have any info about Google TV at this time.
Initially, we will make several thousand assets from our Xfinity On-Demand library available– including top movies and premium cable shows.
Will these be the same content that is OnDemand on the cable box? Or will this be the extended offerings of xfinitytv.com?
Will a streaming Android (Google TV) app coming anytime soon? Why is my money less valuable then someone with an iPad or Xbox (which I own, but I don't play multi-player games so why pay for live).
But you haven't answered the lurking elephant-in-the-room question: Will Comcast's IPTV offerings via Xbox 360 count as traffic against the 250gb/month usage cap that Comcast has in place?
As more services such as this are being offered over the internet, both by Comcast and their competitors (including Netflix, Hulu, etc.), that bandwidth cap is going to become more and more constricting to the end user, and the threat of being banned for one year for exceeding that cap twice may well make people afraid to utilize services such as the one you're announcing. You need to be completely transparent as to the ramifications this has for people who are already straining the limits of your internet service. Moving more services to the cloud necessitates a greater overall use of bandwidth by your user base, so please clarify how this increased traffic may affect those of us paying for your internet service.
