Charisse Lillie

I have been with Comcast for four years. For the first 3∏ years, I led the Human Resources Department. Since July 30th, I have led the Community Investment Department. Comcast has national community partnerships with City Year, National Urban League, NCLR and Big Brothers and Big Sisters, which are sponsoring programs around the country in the cities in which we provide our services. I am responsible for leading those efforts and communicating to our employees and our customers about the fantastic work we do in the community. I am also executive vice president of the Comcast Foundation. I am active on the boards of The Franklin Institute and Howard University in Washington, DC. In my previous lives, I was a government lawyer and a lawyer in a large law firm.  A few years back, I served on the board of the Philadelphia Fed.  I have a collection of books about the federal reserve system and I have read a few of them.

Although I have spent most of my professional life in Philadelphia, I have strong family connections to my family in Houston, Texas, where I grew up. I am one of two children of artists, and I performed in professional theatre before going to college.  I studied violin for many years and played in the Houston Youth Symphony Orchestra. I love music and theatre of all kinds. I recently traveled to South Africa and met some former anti-apartheid activists who are leading South Africa to interracial peace and solidarity. I am reading a fabulous book by Malcolm Gladwell called Outliers. It has some interesting theories about why people are successful and others are not. I recommend it highly.

Comcast Cares Day is tomorrow
