Helena Berger

Helena Berger is the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for the American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD). AAPD is a national non-profit, non-partisan membership organization of people with disabilities, their family members and supporters. Founded in 1995, AAPD pursues its mission to organize the disability community to be a powerful force for change – politically, economically and socially – through public advocacy and programs fostering leadership development, mentoring and career exploration, voting and civic participation, and member benefits. Since Berger joined the organization in 1997, AAPD has grown in size and influence to the point where it is at the center of the disability movement in the U.S. and it is sought after as a go-to partner for government, business, and the broader non-profit community.
