Jason Livingood

I joined Comcast in 1996 as one of Comcast Online’s very first employees. At that time, I was helping take cable modems from a small market trial to national launch. Since then I have worked in a variety of engineering, operations, and even product management and product development roles. Along the way, I’ve helped launch what is now known as Comcast Business Class and developed some key components of Comcast Digital Voice. My team and I are currently focused on exciting projects like the development and deployment of Comcast SmartZone™, the release of our new congestion management system, and the rollout of DOCSIS 3.0, among many other things related to our various Internet, voice, and video services.

A big personal focus of mine has been to bring our customers into close contact with our engineers and developers, so we can more rapidly evolve our services and better meet the needs and desires of our customers. This probably explains why my team and I can often be found hanging around our customer support forums and other web forums and blogs. I’m also spending a lot of time working to increase the transparency of our services, leverage open standards, and generally find ways to be more transparent and open as an organization.

I live in the Chestnut Hill neighborhood of Philadelphia, with my wife and two children. Not only do I love high-speed Internet, but outside of work I also enjoy high-speed in a different way - as an amateur sports car racer in SCCA Club Racing, where I race a Spec Miata.
