Mark Muehl

Mark Muehl is the Senior Vice President of Product Engineering for Comcast’s National Engineering and Technical Operations division. In this role, Mark is responsible for managing Comcast’s integrated product development life cycle – from design through customer care and support. The department is comprised of the following functions: Video Engineering; Business Services; Cross-Platform Applications & Engineering Analysis; Messaging Systems; Voice; and Quality Assurance.

Through the oversight of one functional team that is responsible for taking products from concept to operational inside our customers’ homes, Mark directs his team to reduce redundant testing, improve test coverage, accelerate test processes and reduce the overall cost of lab environments at the company. Through the use of common project management, processes and tools from development through test and deployment, Product Engineering will be able to deliver products faster and at a higher level of quality.

Mark previously served as the Senior Vice-President of Internet Operations for AOL, where he was responsible for architecture, construction and operation of a $400 million global IP network, streaming media and web infrastructure. Following this role, Mark was Senior Vice-President of AOL Video Technology. In this role, he was responsible for technology strategy, design, construction and operation of all video products and platforms. He also held other leadership roles during his AOL career, including: Vice-President of Internet Operations; Senior Technical Director of Internet Operations; and Senior Technical Manger of Internet Access.

Mark graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from George Washington University. He has ten years of leadership experience in the telecommunications industry and holds United States patent 7032-23 (throttling electronic communications from one or more centers).
