Mary McLaughlin

Mary McLaughlin serves as Senior Vice President of Comcast’s Western New England Region. In this role, McLaughlin is the senior executive responsible for operations, financial performance and customer service for over 800,000 customers in more than 300 communities in Connecticut, Western Massachusetts, Vermont and New York.

McLaughlin, an attorney and 17-year veteran of the communications industry, most recently served as Area Vice President for Comcast’s Greater Boston South operating area. In this role, she was responsible for cable operations in the City of Boston as well as its western suburbs and Southeastern Massachusetts.

McLaughlin began her career in the communications industry with Continental Cablevision in 1994, drawing on her prior experiences as a Massachusetts Assistant Attorney General specializing in consumer protection. Following the acquisition of Continental Cablevision by AT&T Broadband in 2000, McLaughlin was named Vice President of Acquired Business Integration for AT&T Broadband in New England, overseeing the successful integration of acquired systems. In 2002, she took on the role of Vice President of Public Affairs and Communications for AT&T Broadband’s New England Region. In 2003, McLaughlin joined Adelphia Communications as Regional Vice President of Law and Public Policy for Adelphia’s Northeast Region and she quickly transitioned into an operational leadership role as Adelphia’s Area Vice President for Vermont, New Hampshire and Eastern New York. Following Comcast’s purchase of those systems in 2006, McLaughlin was named Area Vice President for Comcast’s New Hampshire system, where she oversaw the successful launch of the Comcast brand and products.

McLaughlin’s efforts extend beyond the workplace and into the community where she is a widely respected civic leader serving on the board of directors of the Massachusetts Business Roundtable, New Hampshire Business and Industry Association and the Urban League of Eastern Massachusetts. She is also a gubernatorial appointee to the Massachusetts Governor’s STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Taskforce, which is charged with increasing STEM career awareness among middle schoolers.

In 2009, McLaughlin received the “Industry Leader of the Year” award by the New England Chapter of Women in Cable & Telecommunications (WICT) and was recognized as one of the “Most Powerful Women in Cable” by CableFax Magazine in 2008.

A native of Massachusetts, McLaughlin graduated from Bridgewater State College and Suffolk University Law School. She resides in Longmeadow, Massachusetts with her husband and two children.
