Raghu Rao

In the two and a half years I’ve been at Comcast, I’ve been fortunate to be working on some of the coolest products in my career (and believe me, I’ve worked at many places). As the Executive Director for Communications products, my job is to conceive, and develop products that enhance the experience of our voice and data services. Part of that is to enable access to our in-home services outside of the home, on laptops as well as mobile devices like the iPhone. That is what makes work so much fun! Comcast is known for great services inside the home. My self-imposed mission is to make them accessible even when you are not at home! So if you want to access your voicemail, forward your home phone calls to your cell phone, or schedule a recording on your DVR… you should be able to do that any place, any time, with any device! In today’s mobile world there is no reason you cannot stay connected to all your in-home services regardless of where you are, and what device you happen to carry.

Prior to Comcast I have been a product manager, software developer and wireless engineer, worked abroad for 5 years (London and Germany) in big companies and small. I love Philly, and while Comcast may sound like a big company, the environment around me is like that of a start-up. Decisions are made fast, and we can move quickly. My only regret is that work is too exciting for much else… including the homework assignments for my Exec MBA program at Wharton. Thankfully that comes at an end in May this year, at which point I have promises to keep to my great wife and two wonderful kids!

These are exciting times, and I would love to hear more about how we can make our products more useful and better. Best place to offer feedback and learn more is at our forums.
