Sam Schwartz

I've been involved with many innovation projects at Comcast: helping to strategize and build Comcast's new TV, Internet and cross-platform products; building and recruiting towards an entrepreneurial culture at Comcast; working with and investing in great early-stage companies; and developing relationships with important partners that can help us innovate faster. I have a background in venture capital, software development, business development, strategic planning, and as a product developer.

As President of Converged Products at Comcast, I've been leading the team that's driving the company's initiative to use IP technology to deliver next-generation TV experiences and IP-based content.

Before that, I co-founded Comcast Interactive Media (CIM), and served as EVP of Strategy and Development, where I helped build Comcast's Internet businesses, including Fancast.com and Comcast.net. I also focused on building CIM through acquisition, having done five acquisitions since we began CIM in 2006, including Fandango, ThePlatform and Daily Candy. We've developed a really special set of people and culture within a large company that allows us to integrate our acquired teams well and create new consumer experiences very quickly while having a lot of fun doing it.

I also founded and was Managing Partner of Comcast Interactive Capital (CIC), Comcast's venture capital fund. We've made investments in over 100 early-stage companies in the last ten years. I especially enjoy working with young companies and talented entrepreneurs and have tried to replicate some of that culture in the groups I manage at Comcast.

These roles require me to spend a lot of time on where technology, consumers and the industry is going. Since I joined Comcast ten years ago, the company has seen tremendous growth and change, and I love the opportunities we have in front of us. The Internet boom has allowed us to create new products and services that meet the growing demand of customers that want content immediately and in a variety of ways.

Before Comcast, I spent time as an investor and Board Director at communications and software companies, was a Manager at The Boston Consulting Group, and got an MBA from Wharton and an Engineering degree at Penn.

In my spare time, I love being with my family, serve on the board of directors of Breastcancer.org, build all kinds of things around my house, take great trips with a special passion for Yellowstone, and I have lived in every major East Coast city from Miami to Boston.
