Ted Hodgins

I’ve worked in some aspect of television since at least 1987 and been fortunate to be involved firsthand in a lot of technology changes. My career started out in broadcast television in New Jersey where I was a producer/director/editor and everything else at WMGM-TV in Atlantic City. I then spent 10 years working at a cable company in northern Virginia managing pay-per-view programming and operations as well as marketing, promotion, retail and sports team partnerships and new channel and new product launches.

Since 2000, I’ve been with Comcast working in Delaware and Pennsylvania in a few different roles but always drawn towards new video products. My primary role now is focused on trials and deployments of our new video products and features – looking at how our customers use our video products and our on-screen guide and how we can make these products even better. Customer research and feedback is an important part of that process.

I enjoy problem-solving and working towards having both our customer’s expectations and our business needs met.

I’m a Philadelphia area native (a shout out to my Havertown and Ardmore roots) and now live in suburban Montgomery County. I spend any spare time with my family (my wife Chris; plus three teenagers - Jim, Caroline and Sean - and our golden retriever Luke) and serve on the Alumni Board of Directors for Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania (the alma mater for both my wife and I).

I’m also on the CTAM Advisory Panel. CTAM is a cable industry consortium focused on cooperative marketing initiatives and idea sharing for cable companies, content providers and other industry suppliers.

Photography has always been my hobby (ok, passion and obsession) - which is why there are hardly ever any photos of me at family functions!

New Guide for Scientific Atlanta Cable Boxes

You may not think about the On-Screen Program Guide every day (the interface that connects you, via your remote control, to all the channels and On Demand programming you enjoy) and that’s ok because I do (along with a team...
